We'd like to introduce you to just a few of the exceptional students being considered for scholarships through our program. We believe that all students are entitled to an education and deserve the very best education they can get. We are also aware that not every student has access to the financial resources necessary to pursue higher education after high school. By supporting the students in our "Great Achievers & Scholars Spotlight" corner, you can give these exceptional students an opportunity to move forward in their academic journies. Also, if you are a Corporate Partner or Affiliate and would like to offer internship opportunities and future workforce placement to one or more of these great achievers please contact us, today.

Remember, by investing in the education of these young men and women we are investing in the future of our workforce, our communities, and our country. Donate Today!

Great Achievers & Scholars Spotlight

Quentin N. Cowan is a resident of Henderson, North Carolina, where he  attends Southern Vance High School. He is an exceptional student and currently holds a 3.76 Grade Point Average with a concentration on Forensic Anthropology.

Diligent, conscientious, and enthusiastic are all adjectives that would describe Quentin. As a student and future leader he believes, "Excuses are tools of the incompetent, built upon mountains of nothingness. Those who practice them and their uses seldom accomplish anything." He is a very active member of Psi Phi Nu Step Team, run by Mr. Daniel Jordan at Southern Vance High School. The team focuses on the development of strong, positive, sustainable young men who exemplify great knowledge and leadership ability.  Quentin illustrates that ability while working in a volunteer program at Maria Parham Hospital where he is an inspiration to his peers. He accompanies his parents to church regularly, and involves himself in various community service activities.  He is a compassionate, well-rounded young man who is always willing to go the extra mile to help others. Amongst his peers,  he is a leader and a role-model. He is articulate, well-liked, actively involved in his community and continues to excel academically. His favorite subjects are English, Science and World History. Quentin hopes to continue his education at a University and pursue a degree in Forensic Anthropology in the year, 2015.

Akiah T. Moore, is a native of Richmond, Virginia and a Junior at Varina High School in Eastern Henrico County. He is a student within Varina’s Center for Communications program and is well known amongst his student peers as an aspiring broadcaster and camera man. The Center for Communications is an advanced program that focuses on a curriculum of technology, production, direction, audio/visual, advertising, marketing and broadcast journalism. Since enrolling in the progam (Fall 2011) Akiah has flourished and has become one of the top students in his class. He is the current Vice President of his Junior class and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.

To his credit, Varina High School selected him to attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference (HOBY) in May 2013.  As a result of his participation in HOBY'S conference and leadership program Akiah learned effective teamwork skills and developed an even greater leadership mentality. He was further introduced to various leaders within his community in the areas of media, communication, volunteerism and politics.  Akiah aspires to be great and is using his educational opportunities to his full advantage. He is also an active volunteer in both his community and church where he exhibits a passion for learning, teaching, sharing and assisting those in need. He is a bright student and has aspirations to attend college in the year 2015.
