Mr. Cowan has worked professionally in the banking, investment services and advertising fields, but it is his love for writing and helping others that actually commands his attention. During his time in the private sector, he longed for an opportunity that would allow him to give back to the community.  In 1997, he established a poetic greeting card company and within a few short years had published a book entitled, "Life: Through My Eyes" - a collection of 125 poems and 12 short stories. Since then he has received numerous awards for his writing. He is an author of more than a dozen novels, a six-book children series, multiple screenplays and has produced and directed stage-productions throughout New York City.

His most recent endeavors have allowed him to pursue opportunities in the field of Artist Management . He is a mentor, motivational and inspirational speaker and a leader in his community. Now, in his role as the Executive Director of The Hip Hop Head Foundation, his vision of a more literate America is coming to pass. He has created programs and initiatives that will encourage greater academic success and workforce preparedness for every student.
