RAPPER 100 PERCENT signs on to the "I am a hip hop head" initiative.

REAL STARS WEAR CAPS AND GOWNS

UPCOMING EVENTS

Hip Hop newcomer 100 PERCENT has been selected to appear in the first round of public service announcements and commercials for the "Do School!" campaign.

100 PERCENT is a high school graduate and is an advocate of education as well. When asked how he felt about the state of the education the rapper had this to say, "My perspective on education is both concerned yet optimistic. I feel that education has fallen way below the standards initially set by our educational leaders. The youth of today have so many influences that do not support continuing education or the process of schooling. Literacy is crucial to our future. With that being said, there is a need in our society to foster the principles of education and all the benefits that it brings. It will only take a little push and guidance to help reiterate the importance of education. I am both enthusiastic and honored to have been chosen to pen the theme song for The Hip Hop Head Foundation. All it takes is one move or one person to make a change and I believe that this foundation will take charge and ensure that this goal will be accomplished."

100 PERCENT  is a high school graduate and credits his recent success to his ability to articulate his thoughts and opinion through his music. His artistic expression can clearly be attributed to his level of education. 100 PERCENT will also appear in the first round of commercials for the "Do School!" campaign.

Most of us can remember how excited we were when we put on our very first cap and gown. We'd probably agree that the accomplishment of being a graduate was matched only by the joy of seeing the look of pride on our parents faces.  Fathers stood by poking their chests out far and wide as if they had actually earned a diploma. Many were living vicariously through the accomplishments of their sons. Mothers standing equally as tall and proud with smiles brighter than any flashbulb. The vision of their children becoming doctors, lawyers, professors, somehow didn't seem so fa off anymore. For some it reignited a spark of hope.  Click..click...click, the camera's flashed and were reset.  Click, click, click... everyone's so excited. Click...click...click....what a special moment. Click...click...click do you remember the joy of your first graduation?  Academic success  signifies more than hope for a child, or a parent - it signifies the hope of a nation - our nation.  That's why The Hip Hop Head Foundation endorses "school as cool," and "education as a value." Be inspired by your own success,"Do School!"

WE ARE ASKING THE ENTIRE HIP HOP COMMUNITY  TO HELP US IN SAYING "NO TO ILLITERACY" AND "YES TO EDUCATION."

The influence of the hip hop community is undeniable. We are thankful that every day a new artist, producer or dj is saying "no" to illiteracy and "yes" to the "Do School!" campaign. We look forward to the endorsement of the entire hip hop community to help us reach our goal of 100 percent literacy in America.

Some of the most notable rappers in Hip Hop are being considered for the spokesperson position for the foundation's "Do School!" campaign. Some of the names being considered are, The Educated Rapper, David Banner, KRS One &  Ludacris just to name a few. All of the aforementioned  have carved out a significant place in history amongst the hip hop elite and academic elite. Monumentally, The Educated Rapper (1/3 of the famous trio from the legendary rap group U.T.F.O) is known for his motivational speaking engagements in the public school system where he speaks to youth about current issues and their future. Being an alum of the College of New Rochelle, the 2009 Valedictorian and Magna Cum Laude honoree is a natural selection for The Hip Hop Head Foundation’s plan to impact our youth and honoring the achievements of students striving for academic success. We'll keep you posted.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN BE A GREAT INSPIRATION TO STUDENTS AND THE HIP HOP COMMUNITY.
