When Jelly heard about The Hip Hop Head Foundation's efforts he immediately answered the call to help end low-literacy in urban communities and communities across the nation.  His humble spirit, humanitarian heart and extraordinary talent makes him a one-of-a-kind in an industry filled with carbon copies.  DJ Jelly is the real deal!

Fred Malone, known as DJ Fred Malone, is a native of Chicago., Illinoise. At an early age, inner city living provided him with a front row seat to gang-activity, drive-bys and other crimes that a young child should never have to witness.  However, Malone was determined to avoid the traps and pitfalls of the environment in which he lived.  Instead of hanging with “the boys,” after school he retreated to his basement where he'd spend hours upon hours learning the art of mixing records on turntables.

A few years later, Malone caught the attention of DJ Stormy, who took him under his wing and began to mentor him.  Stormy helped him to hone his craft and taught him the ins and outs of becoming a serious deejay. From that point on, deejaying became a major part of his life.

In 2009, after years of building up a following, DJ Malone incorporated his services into a full scale production business. He currently works with underground rappers and emerging artists providing music production, song creation and arrangement. He is also the host of a killer mixtape series.

DJ Malone understand the need for every child to be educated. He knows that without and education the youth of today don't stand a chance. That's why he said yes to joining the "Do School!" campaign and to helping to stomp out illiteracy.  He is proud to join The Hip Hop Head foundation in spreading awareness about the importance of having an education.

Today, DJ Malone is often called upon to speak to Chicago youth about education and avoiding the pitfalls of the street.

NOW THAT WE'VE GOT YOUR ATTENTION

Louis Dunton (aka DJ BIG LOU) hails from Brooklyn, New York. Home of some of the most influential names in hip hop history, including Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, Fabolous and the Queen Bee herself, Lil Kim.  Having been introduced to different genres of music by his father, Lou developed an ear for harmony and melody quickly.  Yet, it was an introduction to the art of deejaying that truly commanded his attention.

When Lou attended his first block party, he was immediately captivated by the deejay setup,  huge speakers and the anticipation of the people awaiting the music. In 1990, he took on the pseudonym of DJ BIG LOU and began deejaying at local house parties in Brooklyn. Within three years he had gotten his feet wet, made a name for himself and had met a fellow deejay by the name of DJ Jasey Jase. At the time, Louis' new acquaintance had a show on one of the most popular radio stations in new York City (107.5 WBLS).  The two became quick friends and before long Jasey had taken Lou under his wing. Under the supervision of DJ Jasey Jase, Lou learned the art of spinning and the two became partners. It wasn't long before they were playing events from Spike Lee's Annual Block Party, to hip hop concerts at the world famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem New York. They even toured with Wendy Williams.

In a flash DJ Big Lou went from partnering with one of the most sought after DJs to carving out his own lane. The Brooklyn mix master also became the official DJ for DC 37 (the largest union in New York City) and the go-to turntablist for weekly parties in nearly every hot club or bar in the borough. Today, he is still in extremely high demand, lending his mixing talents to clubs and events from the Carolinas, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. His extraordinary work ethic, dedication to the art of mixing and his determination to keep the party rockin' has earned him many fans and solidified long lasting relationships amongst hip hop  greats and pioneers. He's excited to work with The Hip Hop Head Foundation.

John George aka DJ Mastermynd has always had a passion for music. As a child he grew up with two radios; one to play music and the other to record. While in high school he'd spend a great deal of time in the recording studio, quickly developing an interest in the Engineering aspect of the Music Industry.

It was after accepting an invitation to a friend's house party that he became captivated by the way the DJ was able to control the crowd by spinning, scratching and mixing music. That's when he fell in love with the art of being a DJ! The next day his passion led him to a Pawn Shop where he purchased a laptop that turned out to have plenty of music on it already. He began to DJ for his friends as they played cards and hung out and they’d leave him with feedback of his music selection. After moving to Tallahassee, FL to start school, he met DJ Deceptacon at a pool party in his new neighborhood. After expressing his aspirations to become a professional DJ, he was taken under the wing of his super talented mentor and the legacy of DJ Mastermynd came to life!

Today DJ Mastermynd continues to be  musical influence in the Florida region and is has lend his talents to The Hip Hop Head Foundation's efforts to help raise awareness about low-literacy and to inspire students to strive for academic successs.
